Jason Cahill helps lead Earth Foundry’s sourcing, due diligence, investment analysis, and portfolio engagement work, engaging with company leadership, boards, and external advisors. From working with large tech companies to startups to government agencies, Jason has worked across multiple sectors including energy, transportation, and the built environment.
Prior to joining Earth Foundry, Jason held various roles across the climate tech value chain, from founding AWS’s Sustainable Cities program which drives meaningful impact between large corporates and tier-1 cleantech startups, to building a VC firm investing at the intersection of advanced technologies(AI, robotics, and machine learning) and climate, to founding a tech company focused on transportation optimization.
Jason also served for 15 years in the US Army Special Forces, then later as a consultant for multiple government and defense industry clients. Jason has advised companies operating in the cleantech domain across a wide range of needs, from go-to-market strategy, fundraising, and product development to growth, sales, and operations.
Jason is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science, where he teaches a cross-disciplinary course on entrepreneurship aimed at solving defense and government-related challenges. He earned an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and a BS in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland.
