The Role This is a core role that sits at the heart of what we do, with direct exposure to founders, investment decisions, strategic partners, and portfolio companies. You will work across sourcing, diligence, investment analysis, and portfolio support, while also helping expand the AI-enabled workflows that make our platform sharper and faster.The role is designed for someone who wants to build a strong foundation in venture investing and develop a differentiated edge in deep tech. This is an early-career position, not a senior or leadership role — we are looking for someone hungry to learn, not someone who has already done it.
What You Will Do Deal Sourcing and Pipeline Development -Manage the pipeline and review of over 2,000 inbound opportunities annually, surfacing the most compelling companies for team assessment and investment consideration -Engage high potential founders and technologies aligned with our investment themes -Drive the advancement of top opportunities from initial screen to deeper diligence -Own and continuously improve the firm’s deal pipeline and supporting data systems
Diligence and Investment Work -Conduct early-stage diligence across market, technical, commercial, and team dimensions -Leverage expert networks and strategic relationships to validate technical claims and development roadmaps -Develop clear, decision-oriented investment memos and recommendations
Financial and Strategic Analysis -Build and pressure test financial models for capital intensive and deep tech businesses -Conduct market sizing, scenario analysis, and unit economics assessments -Translate complex technical and commercial information into clear investment insights
Strategic Partnerships and Team Leadership -Work with Earth Foundry strategic partners in a true partnership capacity, helping advance their goals and building relationships that support sourcing, diligence, and portfolio value creation -Engage with our world-class venture partners, to support specific goals -Support and coordinate interns on research, market mapping, and other priority projects
Portfolio Support and Platform Development -Support portfolio companies through introductions to customers, strategic partners, technical advisors,and follow on investors -Track portfolio performance and surface key risks and opportunities to the investment team -Contribute to initiatives that strengthen the firm’s broader investment platform
AI and Workflow Development -Expand and refine next generation AI-driven sourcing, diligence, research, and operations workflows -Evaluate and integrate emerging tools that improve speed, insight, and team performance -Apply our unique data sets to enhance outcomes
What We Are Looking For We are looking for an early-career analyst who is analytically rigorous, intellectually curious, and eager to build a foundation in venture investing. This is a role for someone at the beginning of their investing career— not a stepping stone from a more senior position. -1–2 years of experience in venture capital, consulting, investment banking, or a technical or operating role at a startup — we expect this to be an early step in your career, not a lateral move -Ability to evaluate technical or science-based companies -Hands on experience with AI tools and interest in applying them to workflows -Deep interest in industrial innovation, energy, infrastructure, climate, or deep tech -Highly organized with strong attention to detail -Ability to manage multiple workstreams and operate independently -Clear and concise communicator across written and verbal formats -Strong financial modeling skills with the ability to build models from scratch and defend assumptions -Low ego, high ownership mindset
Bonus Points -Background in engineering, energy systems, materials science, robotics, chemistry, or a related field -Experience building internal tools, data systems, or AI driven workflows -Existing network within deep tech, university commercialization, or early stage ecosystems
